Removing Steering Stabilizer
I'm having troubling removing the steering stabilizer on my '01 1500 4x4. It's the original part. I got the bolt and nut off the end nearest the wheel and removed that end. I got the nut off the stud on the other end but I can't get the stud/shock to come out. I can take a picture tomorrow if that doesn't make sense.
Does it just come out or do I need a press or some special tool? Or do I just need to show it who's the boss?

I think the part he is having issues with is on the steering linkage..... I would be reluctant to heat that.......
I use two hammers. (well, 3 pound single-jacks, but, still a hammer..... just, a BIG hammer) Hold one against one side of the part the stuck pokes thru, HIT the other side with the other hammer, hard as you can. Two or three good hits, and damn near everything simply pops apart.

Yeah, just that one bolt holding the end of the stabilizer. I used heat and Blaster. If you aim the torch away from the tie rod, no problem. My new one came with bushings.
I don't think he's talking about the mount that is u-clamped onto the tie rod.

That is odd. In 1998, Dodge changed to the U-bolt mount so I'm curious why he would have the stud mount on an 01. Those stud mounts are a pain. I tried to remove one once on an ex's truck and couldn't get it even with a puller. Thankfully, mine is the u-bolt and I take it out often.
