Ok, I have a awesome running but beat to crap 1997 2500 ECLB V10 4x4 with less than 100k miles on it. I was going to do a bunch of body work to it but found a cream puff of a 1996 2500 5.9 ECLB 5.9 4x4 that the 5.9's bottom end gave out on. My question is how similar are the wiring between the two trucks as I'm thinking of swapping the whole Drivetrain + wiring harness from the 97 into the 96 either that or swap the whole cab and bed from the 96 to the 97. Which would be the more feasible swap?

 

The engine harness will be different, but, everything in the cab will be exactly the same. Should be an *easy* swap. (as these things go.....) Just don't get rid of the donor truck until the driver is complete.
