Throttle body
This is the throttle body I got for mine. I got it off eBay.

same one installed on my 97 last weekend.. unfortunately on the run up to install I had a bad IAC valve so ANYTHING would have run better after new one was installed but it does seem to have better throttle response with new unit... also have a round AC unit to install once weather starts to warm back up here in northeast..
still trying to decide on exhaust.. my truck had the factory exhaust reinstalled just before I bought it, original owner had a cat back dual installed not long after he bought truck in 97 and he kept the old system in his garage all those years until his duals rotted away last summer.. since he was selling truck he had them reinstall the stock SS/T system

As far as the exhaust goes, I am bummed that the only LT headers for the 5.9L is the pacesetters.. I won't buy from that company again if I HAD to. I did see a few companies I think would be good but all are the shorties.. oh well. The cats and "Y" pipe I would like to get are probably the magnaflow mandrel bent type and replace the cats with the all stainless (inside and out.. as in no ceramic) Bassani CompCats. I think a good "H" pipe would keep the best tq and duals. I would really like dual, all stainless with ceramic coated headers of whatever brand I decide to go with. I know that is about $2g's so I will have to save for that, or just pull the trigger on a good month and not look back. Add in another $600.00 for Airgap lower intake and yeah.. lot of money. I love aftermarket
What do you have for filter/intake?
For most folks, the stock air filter/intake system is perfectly fine. It draws air from the exact same place as all the aftermarket "cold air" systems do, so you gain nothing there. The aftermarket system *might* give you better flow, but, that is only going to be an issue at high RPM, a place that a truck spends very little time at. So, I don't see the point of spending several hundred dollars on something that's only advantage is "it looks cool"......
There ARE other folks that make long-tubes for our trucks, but, they are hideously expensive...... I found a few a while back, but, most were rather too close to 4 digits, JUST for the headers, than I am willing to consider.
There used to be a place near me that would custom make headers for whatever you brought in. The guy that ran the show was an absolute wizard with a mandrel bender, and welder....... Too bad he closed up. (he retired, and none of his kids had any interest in the business.) Might see if there is anyone like that around you.

not sure what I want to do for the exhaust either, he already replaced the cat when he reinstalled the factory exhaust last summer and I got a price of cat back aluminized pipe with a stainless magnaflow 3" in 2 x 2.5" out, frog legs with tips for $475.. had this set up with a free flowing cat on my 97 ram sport and sounded so nice.. only loud when I jumped on it other wise it was a nice rumble just cruising...
the only way I would do headers on mine is if I do the heads and then it would be a performance free flowing set, then it would be headers to a true dual set up with twin cats and a cross over
currently running stock air box with a spectre air filter
and the round AC will have a spectre air filter also..
after reading INDYRAMS page http://www.rm-indy.com/
from his experience the round flows much better than the
CAI systems they sell
I know you guys are thinking SPECTRE ??!!! BUT 2 years ago my business partner and I closed down a 40+ YO speed shop and we have been selling the parts off on ebay ever since.. had I known I was going to find this truck there was SO MUCH MORE for 2nd gen rams I already sold off that I would have hung on to..
the spectres were in the shop and had been unsold so I grabbed them and as we come across parts for the 2nd gens I pull them out and decide if I want to keep them or not..
I have set of black of mirror covers which i have never seen before from a company called accent appearance sitting here right now for 94-97s and im not sure if I want to paint them body color and install or not.. also I know I have energy suspension way bar mounts and end links, a set of seat covers for 40/20/40 andi believe a custom fit cover that I KNOW we didn't sell just haven't found them in the storage yet
