Default 46RE jumping out of gear

Hi everyone. I was hoping someone could tell me what would cause a 46RE tranny to jump from D to N and from R to N in a 1997 Ram 2500. I just changed fluid filter pressure sensor and regulator and adjusted band while inside pan to the 71 in. lbs and backing off 2 turns. Now if you hit the throttle kinda quick it will either jump to neautral right away or right when you leave off pedal. Reverse i havent tried yet with the quick throttle response but it jumps out under load like trying to back up a small grade. Havent checked the fluid level yet after oil and filter change as im afraid to drive it much to warm it up while checking it.

Slop in the linkage? Really need to verify fluid level.

The good news is that as long as it's picking up oil while stationary, letting it warm up while staying in place is perfectly safe. Just start 'er up in Neutral on level ground and let it run a little while, then while you keep the brakes applied shift through each gear position, pausing for a few seconds in each, from Park down to 1st and then back up again. Then check the oil level. Nuthin' to it.

That's probably what you'll find, too, nuthin' to it. As in no oil line on the dipstick.

what was going on prior to your "tightening the band"? You were having problems before fluid/sensor change out no?
