Default '08.5 steering swap and tire wear

What do you guys think about tire wear on the Y type stock steering linkage vs the T linkage of the 2008.5 steering upgrade. I know the toe changes with any change in suspension height (i.e. Hitting a bump) on the stock Y steering but is the wear it would cause pretty negligible compared to the T style? I've been reading up on doing the swap, trying to figure out whether I should mess with it. My current components are pretty worn, I'm putting a new set of tires on soon and getting an alignment so it seems now is the time if I want to go ahead and convert it.

So did anybody notice any better wear on their front tires with the conversion or am I just splitting hairs?

The t-style steering is better, if you have to replace parts anyway, do the upgrade. With the t-style, your toe stays where it is supposed to, unlike the y-style. It is definitely worth while. (less bump steer too.)

Had it for two years. No noticeable change in tire wear as opposed to before the swap.

I've never had tire wear issues though.

I do. No matter how often, or where.... I have it aligned.... My right front still scrubs the outside tread off first. Camber problem?

I've only gone through two sets of tires since I've owned the truck, both mid tires, both had irregular wear on the tires that were out front. It could have been the tires though, just wondering if it might help. Thanks for the insight guys

Ham Bone, I see you also have a 2001 1500, did you have a problem with the tapers? Did you have to buy a different Pittman arm when you converted?

Well, when I converted was also when I was doing a Dana 60. My Pitman arm is still original though and it worked fine.

As far as I know, only the pre 2000 models might have had taper issues.
