We are all *special* here It's a good thing though cause most people starting threads on this forum are not posting for fun/enjoyable reasons. I can appreciate a good laugh in a stressful situation..

As for sex analogys, it seems bound to happen on a forum with a majority of the members being guys.

Developing an emotional involvement with an old pickup truck is very much like developing an emotional involvement with a lover, right up to devoting yourself to anticipating and meeting its needs and obsessing over the clues it gives when it's incapable of telling you why it's unhappy.

For richer, for poorer, in breakdown and in high state of tune, for so long as you both shall live. Amen.

Back when I had my firebird, I always referred to her as "my wife", as I spent most of my time with her, and most of my money on her..... What else is a wife for?

Run the block test again, but this time reach over to the throttle body and raise the rpms while doing so. Make sure you drain enough coolant so it doesn't get sucked into the test cylinder, because raising the RPMS will raise the coolant level. Also, make sure the thermostat is opened when running the test.

It sure sounds like you could have married your truck At least if she left you stranded it wouldn't be for personal reasons.. Unless you beat her silly and abuse her

I will give that a shot sometime this morning/afternoon, I was smart enough to only begin testing once the t-stat opened.. But I did manage to ruin the first 2 tests I ran cause of coolant contamination.

I spent almost all day yesterday flushing the coolant.. I may have lucked out and just had leftover residue from my previous engine gunked up in the radiator/hoses (which were caked!).. Time will most likely be the true test.

That's what I say about my harley, I can ride it when I want, it rumbles between my legs and when I'm done, I just shut it off and walk away.

Just ran the test again, and the results are the same! I may be in luck here.. And that's not something I get to say very often, they made up that luck of the Irish thing ya know.

The solution after running the block test for a second time.

This is the solution after I sucked in some exhaust fumes from the tail pipe. Wanted to make sure the solution was good.

Got the whole kit from napa for $45, which is a bit on the expensive side.. But that's what happens when you only have one auto parts store in your town.. Compression tester was $30
