Quality Headlight Replacements??
If you want a very good premium lamp and are willing to accept the shorter lifespan that all premium lamps bring, check out the GE Nighthawk Platinum. It's a very good lamp, but like all other premiums these days they have that monkey-boy blue band on them.
I've also found that of the premium lamps the GE's are the easiest to find online at a good price.

Thank you guys for your opinions
Right now I have a mismatched combination ( the bulbs out of my old assemblies! 1 is a ge from Napa that needed replaced on my way to Buffalo one day, the other manufacturer unknown.) But they seem WAY better than when they were in the old fixtures!!!

Oops, missed this... Sorry for the delay.
I consider a premium lamp to be one that delivers measurably and considerably greater than stock luminosity. The 9004 is a 700 lumen low beam/1200 lumen high beam (at 12.8VDC) lamp. A typical premium (+30) version will be a whopping 720/1230 lumens -- not a huge difference, but still measurable and considerable.
That said, if your charging system runs at 13.8V and you've got a relay kit in there to make sure the lamps see that voltage, your 700 lumen lamp will run at more like 900 lumens -- and the premium lamp, depending upon its construction, will be in the neighborhood of 1000+ and get your lows to about midway between low and high beam as compared to the basic 9004 on crap factory wiring.

LMC relay kit enroute!! So once I get that installed it'll literally make the differance "night & day"!!! Well this morning on the way to work 4:20am E.S.T.was the first use of the new headlight assemblies in my truck..WOW they made a CONSIDERABLE improvement, I haven't aligned them yet, but they appear to be pretty close out of the box!! Once I get those relay kits in, I'll really see the light!!!
Thanks for all the help so far

Oh, yeah: The price on that LMC Truck relay kit is the only reason I didn't build my own. It's hard to justify putting time into fabricating something when you can buy it in plug and play form for thirty bucks. I'm not a big supporter of overseas manufacturing, but purity is hard to accomplish these days.[/QUOTE]
i must be over thinking the 55-9505 LMC heavy duty headlight we harness with relays installation! The instructions on the back of the package are so vague I'm looking for the first 3 prong connector and not finding it etc. Is it THAT simple I'm just over thinking. Are ALL connections under hood? Unregistereduser & Hey You both called it plug and play, I'm not doubting this but I'm not getting it!!!!

All connections are under the hood. The harness has a pigtail that goes to the battery, the 'three pin' connector they are talking about is the drivers side headlight connector. It plugs into its mate on the heavy duty harness. The passenger side headlight connector on the original harness is no longer used. (but, it is still powered, so, tape it off, and stash it somewhere.)
I may order those headlights, getting real tired of dim lights driving on these back roads. On gravel and blacktop county roads alot, lots of critters to share the road with. My brights are so dim that people don't even care that they are on, doesn't bother oncoming traffic. My 96 sport has 199,600 miles and lens are not very clear.
Don't know about that relay kit, unless they have real good directions, showing me the exact location of where to tap in with new connector, I would be standing around like a dummy.

The harness is actually really easy to install. Two wires go to the battery, unplug stock harness headlight connectors, plug new harness into drivers side headlight connector, route passenger side of the new harness, plug it into the passenger side bulb, (there is one for the drivers side bulb as well.) and connect two grounds.
I had to drill one hole for a ground wire, and that was it. With new bulbs, housings, and the harness, my headlights are MUCH better than before. I really like it.
