Default 4x4 only works in low

My 4x4 for some reason will only engage in 4 Low not 4 High, the shifter does feel like it engages and the linkage is fine from what I can see underneath. any ideas?

Put the t-case in 4 high, crawl under the truck, and try and rotate the front driveshaft. (engine off, trans in park.)

sorry for the delay, but when the t-case is in 4high I can not move the front driveshaft more than a quarter turn in each direction.

Then the vacuum system is your problem. Check and see which port is getting vacuum at the cad. (on the front axle.) should be the inboard port. May just have a leak somewhere.
