Default 01 Ram P1763 with New Trans!

Hello all, back again with more trans issues. Refresher, 01 Ram 1500 4x4 5.2 V8, new radiator and trans lines with no check ball. Just installed a new 46RE Transmission in the truck and shifts good accept, was hitting 1st and 2nd and then jumps right into lockup even at 20mph. Also it will not downshift while driving unless you are around 30mph or come to a stop. The Trans is from a good rebuild shop, does lots of dodge work. At first start idling at install it got a p1763 and then light shut off shut off. Put about 10 miles on it with no light on and now its on and starting in second. Really don't want to pull the pan again if its a electronic issue. Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks!

I'd say try resetting pcm and give her another go, let it relearn new trans. Obviously check fluid and tv cable. I'd also check if in in the rebuild, they installed new solenoids, specially the governor pressure solenoid and overdrive solenoid, if they reused old parts, that might be your issue. Wouldn't hurt to check the trans connector as well to pcm.

Reset the check CEL this morning and its starting in 1st but still shifting into 3rd and OD at around 20-30mph and you cannot downshift unless manually. They do use all new electronics as that was one i asked and was told about how common they are they have and world never install used ones. Fluid level is good and have been adjusting the crap out of TV cable with no luck. Thanks for the quick response really don't want to hurt the reman trans!

Ok resetting is one thing, but did you try a full reset, remove battery cables for a minute. Just resetting code won't reset the computer.

That's really strange, as if it isn't registering 3rd gear. Have you checked band adjustment on the 2-3 nut? If you have a warranty dude, I suggest taking it back before you void it playing with it or worse break something.

Year 3 year warranty. He told me to adjust the cable more. It will go into 3rd but just jumps into lockup but its not missing a shifts. Just like snapping your finger 3-4 Lockup in 2 seconds unless your at full throttle then it will run out 3rd.

Check the part numbers on the governor pressure sensor, and solenoid they used. If they used older part numbers, your trans will never shift right.

I guess I have to pull the pan! Been hoping for a better solution. Had all the issues I had with the last trans and was hoping to be good for a while with the new trans. Anything I can look for with the scan tool? Snapon Solus tells a bunch and I did have it on yesterday and showed everything was good. Had friend watching it go 1st, 2nd, 3rd, OD, and Lockup with no issues but it just dumps 3-4 lockup in the blink of an eye and stays there I can stand on the gas and it will not do anything.
Thanks

Just check your reciepts, and find out where the trans shop gets its electronic parts from. Entirely possible that someone just made a minor mistake, and installed the wrong year parts.

With your scanner, compare what the PCM thinks governor pressure is, with your speedometer. They should be pretty close.
