Any that have the 9.25 rear end, with an LSD. Will need to change the gears over to the new diff though. Not an exercise to be undertaken lightly. If you haven't done it before, pay someone else to do it. Either that, or draft a friend that knows VERY WELL what they are doing, and have them assist.

94-01 1500's. (and probably others as well, but, I don't know how far back that would go.) There is an option code for LSD, verify the donor truck has it.

A limited slip diff was an option so it could be in any second gen with a 9.25. Look under the hood for the options. You can also look for the tag on the rear. The stock limited slip is not the best design. It wears and then you have an open rear. Upgrade to a non clutch style like the Detroit turetrac.

Instead of trying to locate and pull just the limited slip from a rear and have a shop install it in yours, why not just take the whole rear? It can be swapped out in an afternoon with some jackstands, a jack, and a friend or two. The slight increased cost of getting the whole rear is probably still way cheaper than the labor required for a shop to pull and swap just the limited slip. Just a thought.

^ yes, a very good point BUT you are still have an unknown (possibly) amount of mileage on the clutch discs of the LSD. plus one for the trutrac.

Sure wouldn't hurt to rebuild it prior to installation regardless of which direction you take. I don't think you actually need to pull it to rebuild it.

I liked the true-trac I put in the rear of my 96 Ram 1500 so much, I had one put in the front Dana 44.
