I just did a little looking and found the LARES paper on how they say to do it...would have been nice to have this with the pump

http://www.larescorp.com/wp-content/...structions.pdf

going to go get a few new bottles of fluid and change it out one more time follow their suggestions

At least the new tensioner is working and the price was great FREE.... buddy needed parts for a car he was fixing for somebody asked me to price it out.... Advanced auto using their TRT41 code saved him $120 on the brakes and rotors and tie rod ends so he said the person was covering my part too ($45 ) oh and rebates on the rotors brake pads getting another $40 back,,,4 rotors two sets ceramic pads and two outer tie rods by MOOG all for $170 or so for an 2003 Infiniti i35

Starting to think the pump ROCKAUTO sent me might be the problem

Just to update.... a while back I had a spare few hours so I decided to pull out the NEW ROCK AUTO power steering pump and re-install the old one back in ( had to change it out for a safety inspection as the shop said it was leaking --- i really think the shop sprayed some oil on it to make some more money)

put the 20 yr old pump back in and I can now 1 finger steer even at idle

just got a bad new pump why always me?

Probably doesn't have the correct flow control valve in it. The new pump I got to replace mine, when the pump shaft sheered right off...... doesn't give quite as much assist as the original, nor does it feel as smooth...... No clue how much an OEM pump would run.... Probably scary expensive.
