Depends on how much you get. If it's just a little bit, 1/8th inch or so, its normal.

I have a paypal account......

rear axles are held in by C clips. Gotta pull the cover off the diff to see 'em. A little bit of play is normal. If you think it's excessive, need to have a look inside, and see what's goin' on. So long as the axle doesn't pull out completely though, it usually ok.

Seriously?!?! Dang, I thought I got rid of c-clips when I got rid of the jeep. I did get an eliminator kit for that vehicle.

They are probably out there for the 9.25 as well..... I have a D60, so, full-floater, no axle slop at all.

It's one of the poorly designed things on the 9.25. No c clip eliminators for it to my knowledge. ??? I would check it sooner then later, If it is excessive the clip may brake/fall off and the axle shaft will come out of the rear while driving. Not fun!

Possibly one of the 'wear shims' that goes behind the side gears. If you have a friend handy, have them push/pull the axle, and see if one of the side gears in the diff is really sloppy.
