5.2 318 tick 1997 dodge ram
Went to replace the o'r rings because of it, and ended up replacing all the injectors because they were too brittle to get the old seals off without them crumbling. That only accomplished making them louder!!
Well got it done its idling and running smooth. Now back to the tick. I checked all the rocker arms they're tight torqued down to 21ft lbs. So does that mean it's not a lifter? Or is the possibility it's still a lifter? It's just driving me nuts haha it doesn't tick until it's warmed up. Or at least you can't hear it until it's warmed up.

I had a tick that sounded like a lifter, and was to the point that I was just going to live with it (was planning a rebuild anyway). My catalytic converter plugged so I was under the truck dropping the exhaust and noticed that a manifold was missing a bolt. Rather than the bolt falling out, the head had broken off. After looking at it from on top I don't know how I missed it. It also only ticked when warm.
Check your exhaust system thoroughly.

It just had less things able to make noise.
Without a very clear sound clip or video any suggestion we make here is just a semi-educated guess unfortunately.
And that is still a possibility. In MY personal experience though, the only time you can hear an injector in these trucks is when they are bad (unless you're listening for them)... always with a dead cylinder. That's just been my experience though.

The truth of the matter can only be gotten to with either a decent A/V clip, or better still, the vehicle in front of you hands on.
Well I'll get a video of it and post it some time tomorrow that's where y'all can hear it. Cause I had a auto stethoscope and checked the injectors and they all sounded the same pulsing. And I just changed the exhaust manifold gaskets and they're tight and torqued down to spec. But we'll see what y'all think after the video again I appreciate it guys.
