2000 Ram 2500 V10 flex plate
Hi all,
I have just noticed a steady clicking noise coming from between engine and transmission. Mostly while in park and seems to be less noticeable while driving as speed increases. Suspect a problem with flex plate. Does anyone have recommendations on where to obtain replacement flex Plate? Not much showed up on a websearch. 2000 Ram 2500 V10 (Auto).
Thanks kindly!

Should be able to find them just about any parts store, or, the dealer. (of course, the dealer is going to think they are made of gold, and, charge accordingly.....) Jegs or Summit should have them as well. Not to mention Rock Auto.
Thanks for the Mopar part number. I haven't found anything that matches so far. Several come up matching for the Cummins diesel but not the same part number. Can anyone confirm if the flex plate is the same for the diesel as the V10? Transmission is 47RE. Thanks!
Here's one. Not cheap though..... most I found were in the neighborhood of 200 bucks, but, they were also discontinued/outofstock/wedon'thaveone deals......
I get conflicting information though... One site seems to think this part fits ANY engine that came in the rams... From the v-6, to the v-10, including the diesel..... I find that rather difficult to believe.....

Yep. That's the one although that site now also says "out of stock".
I did have more success going through some of the "used truck parts" web sites, so I'm pretty sure I can find a used one if needed. Mechanic is going to do a tranny diagnosis on Wednesday so I'll know for sure what is needed then. To complicate matters, I spent another half an hour under the truck today checking for rattle noises and I found a pretty good rattle in the catalytic converters. It's possible that is what I was hearing all along but I'm still going to have the tranny checked to make sure I don 't have a flex plate /torque converter issue. Thanks again for the help. Much appreciated.

It's really unusual to see a cracked flex plate within a housing that hasn't been unbolted from the engine recently. The quantity of torque required to break a properly installed flex plate would be truly astonishing and far beyond the capacity of your factory drivetrain.
I'd bet a dollar that it's not the flex plate.
