It doesn't surprise me, I tried a 1997 5.2 PCM in a 2000 5.9 truck, just for testing and diagnostic purposes.

Oh, that explains it. The newer trucks get info to the cluster in an entirely different fashion.

Hi everyone i'm new on here and I was wondering if someone can possibly help me and if anybody knows why my truck keeps dying. I Have a 1996 dodge Ram 1500 5.2 that well start up with no problem but theirs times were all it well do is crank. when it does not start I notice that the fuel pump don't prime (changed fuel pump a year ago) and it just cranks. It can go on for a couple days like that and then everything starts working again and the truck well start and run again with know problem. I have checked everything and i'm at a total loss. I am afraid to drive the truck do to this problem because the truck can go days without starting before it starts working again. If someone can help me that would be great. Thank you for your time.

Start your own thread. Do NOT simply post the same thing on a bunch of different older threads.
