Default Driver Side Front Door Speaker PLEASE HELP

Hi my name is dylen my father has a 2000 dodge ram 1500 5.2l 4x4 and im trying to figure out whats wrong with the 1 speaker he said its been having problems since the day he got the truck in 2000 he said at first the speaker will come on and cutt off so here is what i did

i tried out another stock head unit speaker still didnt work both head units work

i tested another speaker i took out the passenger side door speaker which does work and plugged it into the driver side it worked when i did that yesterday. Today the next day its not working. i kept the Known working speaker there.

The door has a hole on the bottom because well it rotted out like every other dodge i think its possible water got up there and shorted the wires out.

Do i have to replace the whole wire from the head unit to the speaker or is it something else we do have the ground going directly to the battery the radio wont work if its not going to the battery. please help me thank you

I need your opinions and personal experiences with the same problem and what you did to fix it Feel free to email me also

No idea why this thread showed as "Moderated"..... So, you are now approved, hopefully, won't be a problem again.

Does your dad have the infiniti audio system in his truck?

Well, if a known good speaker, and a known good head unit, still leaves you with the problem, wiring is pretty much all that's left..... There is a connector at the door frame, so, check that first.... make sure it's all clean, and tight.... if that ain't it, then you need to figure out which side of the connector the problem is on.

Oh, and: Welcome to DF!

Nope, its where the door harnesses meet the body harness. Open the door, you will see the rubber boot the wiring runs thru. On the cab side, if you pull the boot out of the door frame, you will see probably two connectors there. Yep, they are a pain.

See if a new speaker works.... don't hold your breath though.... Take it from there.
