Default P0601 -- No apparent running issues

Hello. I have an 01 V6 Manual 1500 that is throwing a CEL for P0601.
I have not noticed any performance degradations, nor a noticeable hit on mileage (at least, it seems appropriate for a truck).

I did buy the truck knowing this code was being thrown, but didn't think too much of it since performance was not impacted.

I've decided I want to try and find out what could be causing the issue, and have read a number of posts. Since everything still functions, I'm trying to avoid replacing the PCM.

I haven't yet checked the grounds everywhere yet.
A few things to note though:

The dash is... Almost gone. The radio is zip tied to the dash frame, as is the passenger air bag toggle.
It previously had a breathalyzer installed that a previous owner had removed themselves.
The truck is a complete base model, so no power windows, mirrors, locks, security, etc.

Could the dash being broken and the radio and air bag being zip tied to the metal frame cause an issue? (I intend to replace dash soon)
What wires should I check to ensure the breathalyzer was removed as well as it could be?

Thanks

That code is for a PCM failure. It's rather generic, and could mean anything at all. Replacement is about the only option you have....

Now, that said, it could last years running like that, or, it could fail completely tomorrow...
