Wobbly tires
I got a 01 4x4 and when I turn the steering wheel u feel the tires wobble slight from the truck and I can feel it in the steering wheel? I know my Pitman arm is already a lil loose and I need to replace it. And I have a passenger side u joint that is loose. Any ideas other than that? Ball joints possibly?
what are your tires like? might wanna check out your steering stabilizer too. might help some. they also say these help with a common issue on these trucks http://www.rocksolidramtrucksteering.com/

It started off with a lil play in my steering wheel and I thought my Pitman arm was shot. Checked that out and the bearings. Still tight. No play. Then I started having issues in my wheels shaking when I turn and assumed it was ball joints. Looked at the ball joints and saw leaking grease around the joints on the knuckle but when I get the axle up and try to wobble the tires to see if there's play neither tire wobbles. Am I missing something?
I would check your axle shaft U-joints, more likely they are stiff rather than loose. When you turn the wheels the tight joints try to resist turning and make the steering wheel wobble, kind of like 4WD on dry pavement. Take a small pick and pull back the U-joint cup seals and look for rust. It only takes one cup to cause the vibration. The front axle shafts turn all the time, in both 2WD and 4WD.
I was wondering y that looked like that last night when I was under the steering trying to figure out what the problem was. Both u joints r orange from rust and the right one is loose and needs to be changed.
