Default Rough Idle.

I just bought my truck 3 weeks ago knowing about this issue thinking i could fix it. Sometimes it has a rough idle wanting to stall. I would shut it off, and back on then it would perform awesome! I checked for air leak i was fine, cleaned throttle body, changed iac sensor, pcv valve still nothing, changed plugs and wires still nothing. Fuel is running lean and sometimes I am getting misfires.. any help would be awesome!

Also fuel pressure is fine so its not the fuel pump.

Also I am new to here and not to sure how to start another thread!

There's a button on the upper left "New Thread". Click that, and down the road ya go.

Welcome to DF!.

Did you check the distributor cap, and rotor? If they are corroded up bad, it will give you an intermittent miss.

Gonna break these out into your own thread for you.

what are the engine temps at when it has problems? does it do it worse if there's moisture in the air?

Also, does it do it immediately on a cold engine, or, does it take a couple minutes to show up?

It happens when its a cold start. It doesn't do it if the engine has been on for awhile. So strange I am usually good at figuring out problems haha

is it a cold start, it stalls, then you restart it and it's fine or does it have symptoms (a idle issue but not stalling) until the engine warms up some?

I didn't have stalling but I had the rough idle...I'll skip everything I went through new IAC, MAP, TPS sensors, wires, distributor, coil and three sets of different plugs...It was the plugs, you need to use the copper plugs..the cheapest you can buy....hope it helps
