Default 1999 ram 5.9 v8 starting issue.

have a 99 ram 1500. 5.9 v8.

So it wont start. Had this problem before and weird thing is I let it sit for and hr the first time and she started right up!? Ok.

Now the second here she wont. It seems like its not getting fuel to engine no matter how many times you tinker and try to start it doesn't smell like its flooding out or getting and fuel. When I go through the start up process everything works like it should. Fuel pump you can hear runs nice and strong. But no start. It will keep turning and turning but no start. I'm new to the mopar sceen only had the truck for a solid yr and this is my first real issue with it.

Do you have a check engine light on? If so you need to check the codes. The codes will give a idea what the problem may be. Did you happen to check for a spark from the coil?

Platinum? If so, change 'em out for some good coppers. Our trucks don't always like the rare-earth plugs.

What does your temp gauge say? Does it stay at the bottom of the scale with the ignition in the run position?

Try stomping the gas pedal to the floor, and cranking the engine. See if it thinks about starting. (clear flood mode)

You are getting spark, and fuel, no point changing those sensors.... especially not for aftermarket versions. They just don't work as well as the Mopar parts.

so far did distributor cap, rotor, cam position sensor and new wires and she fired right up. stays running consistently no rough idle. let it sit and run for about 10-15 min then test drove came back parked it let it sit for an hr fired right back up.
