Default 318/360 hoist points

Now I know on the 2000 5.2l. You aren't supposed to use the intake manifold as a lift point but does anyone have pics and specific bolt size/length for lifting via the sides of the blocks/heads?

I use a chain and bolt it to the end of the head in front and the back of the head on opposite side so its even !

What size bolts. Previous owner of the long block was inconsiderate enough to give me none of the bolts he had used to hoist it off. (Well no bolts at all beyond what kept the covers on the block and heads and timing cover

3/8-16 works. I will have to get some 1" length since 1.5" is about .5" too long

Gotta leave room for the chain, and still have good thread engagement. Don't want them to break, or rip out the threads. That would suck.

Better to use something to strong, than something not quite strong enough.
