Default 360 build

I've picked up a decent 360 for my '96, to replace the 318 that's getting tired. Paid $100 and a 727 trans. for it. Since then I've added edelbrock shorty headers, F&B throttle body (54mm I think? I got it used), EQ heads (again, used, but they check out as new), and a Huges cam. I'm looking into the Edelbrock fuel injection manifold as well. My question is in regards to the cam. I know nothing about cams beyond their function. The numbers are all jiberish to me. The cam came with the heads and tb as a package. The specs are;
Duration @ 050 213/218
Lift 521/521
I'm looking for more punch in the lower and mid range. Will this work for me?
His truck is nearly identical to mine, (2wd auto, 9 1/4 with 3.55s). He said it really worked well for him, but decided to upgrade to a 408 with aluminum heads. Everything is clean and looks good. I'm also wondering about the 1.7 rockers? Would they be something worth looking at with this set-up? I've searched on this, but again, the various cam specs and how the numbers change as they interact with the rockers are over my head.
Thank!!

Given the lift on that cam, stick with stock ratio rockers. (1.6 I do believe.) Otherwise, you run into the danger of coil bind..... Not a pleasant scene.

If you have the cam card, does it have a grind number on it? (manufacturer as well would be good. )

Okay, from what I can discover.... That is a chrysler cam, designed for high rpm, and "tight" lash, hydraulic roller lifters. I don't think that's a good cam for a truck motor......

Thinking back, that's not the cam I bought, just the box he had it in I guess. He had two for sale, a Huges and one from Performance Injection. I took the PI one as its what he ran in his 360 and he liked it. I don't remember the numbers exactly (I have emailed him and asked), but they're something like 218/226 dur. and 525 lift? I didn't even notice the wrong box until seeing the picture! Ah, night shifts sure mess with a guys head after a while. That box is maybe what he's got in his 408?

Yeah, see if you can come up with the correct cam specs. Might be a grind number etched into the front or rear of the cam?

Ok, on the rear of the cam in hand etched numbers is 80307, and stamped on it is L-1
On the front stamped on it are 369 and 209.

Ok, I finally heard back from the fellow I got it all from. He says the cam specs are;
Dur. 218/225
Lift 525/525
110 lobe seperation.
He apparently built his engine according to some article on the Performance Injection website (about a magnum top end kit put in a Red Express). I read the article and they claimed 125 hp increase over a stockish rebuilt 360 Magnum (though it was carbed). The kit included the cam, mildly ported cast iron heads, dual plane intake and better 1.6 rockers. The heads I got from him he claimed had a "stage 1" port job done (though he figured it was pretty well just flash removal and general cleaning up). It was suggested to him to drill a hole in each butterfly on the throttle body, which he did, though he didn't run it before so he didn't know if that made it any better.

I don't see the point of drilling the butterflies.... all that does is allow more air in. IAC should be able to deal with that.

I suppose, you could put it all together, drive it, and see what you think. If the cam seems to be more top-end happy, a cam change isn't *too* much of an ordeal.....
