2000 ram wont start
Timing is purely computer controlled, there is no adjusting it at all. (without special equipment at any rate....) The 'pick-up coil' in the distributor has nothing to do with ignition at all. It only clues the computer in as to which half of the firing order its on. Its just a switch, when the switch changes state, depending on which direction it is going (on>off, or off>on) it knows exactly which cylinder it is on. It's only purpose is for determining which injector the PCM should fire next. You can turn the distributor to your hearts content, and it simply will not affect timing.
Have you tried just lightly stepping on the gas, and see if it will start? If not, pull a plug, and see what it looks like. Is it SERIOUSLY wet with gas?
