Default '00 Ram 2500 Died While Driving

Hello everyone!

Im stumped and need some help so I decided to join the forum.

Heres what I have:
2000 Ram 2500 5.9 Gas 4x4 Auto Trans

A few days ago while driving the truck shut down and would not restart. Had it towed home and checked the fuel pressure. It registered absolutely nothing. I replaced the fuel pump about 4 months ago so had a new one sent under warranty. Also let me say that about a month prior to this happening my fuel gauge stopped working and i got a CEL for a fuel gauge issue.
After installing this new pump a few days ago the truck still would not start. Im getting fuel at the rail though. So i decided to check for spark and see that I have none. I checked for spark at coil and power to coil and there is none at all. I replaced the Crank Sensor (what a pain to get to!) Thinking this was the issue and I still have no start and no power to coil. I also swapped the ASD relay out after reading a few forums about it and still have the same issue.
What I have dome to the truck over the past year:
New distributor, plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
New tps and iac
New exhaust front to back including O2's
Here what I havent done with my current issue:
I have not checked to make sure the distributor is spinning
I have not checked the cam sensor readings
I have not checked the pcm
Im not quite sure how to or what pins to test the pcm
I am stumped and really need the truck back on the road and would greatly appreciate any input you all have. Sorry for being so lengthy, just wanted to be thorough.

Thanks!

How old is the battery?

Does it have charge?

Battery has a charge. Not sure of how old it is off the top of my head.

Also wanted to add that for some reason the fuel gauge does not move when i turn the key to the on position. Even after installing the new pump. Everything else seems to work on the cluster. I have fuel at the rail but no power to coil at all

Lightbulb Power to the coil

You have to be quick to see 12 volts at the coil if it is not starting. Have your meter or test light already connected to the 12 volt input to the coil.

When you turn the key to either start or run, if the PCM does not sense that all is ok, it will turn off the ASD Relay after 3 seconds.

The ASD Relay provides power to the coil and injectors.

I had the positive lead to the power side of the coil plug and had my daughter turn the key on and crank it. My multimeter never changed. Showed zero. Any suggestions on what to test now? Thanks!

Does the fuel pump prime when you first turn the ignition on?

Are you getting power TO the ASD relay?

Have a service manual? If not, get one here.

Welcome to DF!

I have fuel at the rail. The funny part is I couldnt hear the pump run with the key on. So i swapped out the fuel pump relay and tried again. Still nothing. So i pulled the relay and jumped pin 30 and 87 (i think) with a paper clip. I could hear it run then. I did crawl under the truck this time. The first 2 times I didnt. Maybe it was running but I just could hear it? How do i check for power at ASD relay? Will i need a helper for that? And thank you for the link for the service manual. I downloaded one yesterday.

Im just not very good with electrical testing so Im kind of stuck as to what to do next. Thanks again

Check and see if you get power to the injectors. (it only lasts about three seconds when the key is turned on, or, if the PCM sees the engine cranking.) Can use a meter, or a test light.... (asd relay also provides power to injectors.) If you do NOT have power there, we can go back to the ASD relay. If you DO, then it is just the circuit for the coil that has a problem.

So I assume I can just pop an injector plug off and test for power from there???
