My truck just died while driving 70 down the highway
Hello,
I was driving down the highway and my engine just died. I coasted into a rest stop.
I have fuel pressure, and it cranks.
The only thing I can think of is cam sensor, crank sensor or pcm. I had the pcm rebuilt last year.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
5.9 automatic 2001 1500 4x4
thanks

How weak?
Check more than one cylinder. (or, directly off the coil......) If checking from the coil, make sure you are getting spark at the plugs as well.
Should be able to feel if your injectors are firing. Just put a finger on one, and have someone crank the engine. (caution, may be hot......)

Spark is pretty good directly off coil. I can feel the injectors firing.
If I push the test port on the fuel rail down, if the key is on I should get a continuous stream of fuel right? I get fuel pressure, but just for a second

It ended up being a bad coil. I knew that spark looked weak, I just figured it would adleast fire some with some spark... I guess thats not how it works. Thanks for your help "HeyYou"

Back on the road again? That's always good.
But, for future reference, if the engine is running, you will only get a spurt of fuel out the test port. PCM will only run the pump for about three seconds, if it doesn't see the engine turning.
