If you start off with the rotor pointed at number 1 with engine at tdc, then spin the engine 2 full revolutions, and rotor is pointed to number one again the timing is fine.

It sounds to me like a bad coil, or a bad connection to the coil. I worked on one that had me pulling my hair out because of symptoms similar to yours. Finally found a mostly broken wire going into the coil.
When it was out in the open it showed good voltage. As soon as it was plugged in it bent enough to break the connection. Sometimes it would still throw a spark, but conditions had to be just right for it.

Just my experience here. Hope it helps.

Oh for the love of God, can we STOP making new threads and just FINISH the great ones we have going on... regardless of how old they are?
I've now read about seven threads on the internet and they ALL just end without the solution documented. I have the same exact problem... why do I need to waste band width and storage space starting yet another thread covering the same information?? For Christ sake.... OPs, finish your thread. What was the solution? If OP is gone but someone knows the answer, what was it?

Well, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. No power to the coil can have several causes. Maybe you should tell us what you are driving, and what you have already done to troubleshoot the problem, so we don't waste time telling you to do things you have already done.

But yeah, I would be nice if folks would come back and tell us what the solution would be. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen nearly as often as we would like....

If you read the op's posts he is all over the place. No power to coil then he had power just didn't know how to test it. Getting a code for crank sensor(witch he didn't know), Replaced both from what i am reading getting spark but not starting. He still didn't give truck info even after being asked(should be in the first post!). And just an FYI he hasn't been here since...Last Activity: 08-04-2016

Post YOUR particular issue with truck info and we will be glad to help you out.
