So I've had the truck for 2 years, and noticed it after I had bought it that the door hinge was damaged. Please see pictures below. How do I go about fixing this? Should I remove the door, clean up the rust on the cracks, and mig weld the cracks? Or is there another approach I should take? Just looking for the best solution. Thanks!

 

Looking at it, it looks like I am missing one of the bolts holding the hinge onto the door pillar, so I'm guessing I'm going to have to take the dash out to replace that screw...

 

you dont have to remove the dash to do the drivers side remove the 13mm bolts for the ebrake and theres a round hole covered by black felt some one couldnt get the bolt in yours and rigged it but yeah your missing the bolt in the hole but it also may be stripped

Just a heads up, those wires running outside the boot wont last long. Hope whatever their hooked to isn't expensive...

 

Yeah, that's for my heated mirrors... What do you suggest I do to protect those wires? Or do I need a bigger gauge?

 

Try to run them inside the boot. Running any wires in a door jamb will fatigue them quickly if not properly insulated.

Probably but running them thru the boot would be the "right way". That metal will wear through the wires and pop fuse after fuse. Assuming it's run with a fuse...

 

Yeah, when I take the door off, I'll try to run it through the boot then, would love for it to be in there. Was looking into some sort of rubber grommet set up for it as well.
