Default 360 exhaust

Hey guys I have a 95 1500 with the 5.9l. I recently put new exhaust on. Took the cat off and went with true duals. Welder said there wasn't enough room for an h pipe. Got 2 siso cherry bomb extremes dumped over axle with no tips. Sounds good and has deep tone at idle and really low rpm but mid range and cruising at about 1600-1800 it has a loud and annoying kind of crackle. Was thinking about switching to a flowmaster 44 or cherry bomb pro because I don't wanna spend the money to tip this system out and it not change anyone had any experiences like this or have any advice for me. I have a vid of what it sounds like just not sure how to post it]

Check on youtube for various videos of folks exhaust, and you can hear a variety of mufflers.

Welcome to DF!

When I did my exhaust, I went with a nice quiet muffler.... I can even hear the engine above about 20mph.

If you removed the cat you may have to put a resonator into the system somewhere to help achieve the sound you are looking for.

If you want a very deep tone, then your goanna want the Hooker Aero chamber! there even deeper than the flow masters ...

I have thought about resonator but I'd have to have 2. Was thinking about getting a single in dual out muffler to take place of an h or x pipe. I've looked youtube up and down can't find a system just like mine or many videos of the cherrybomb pro. Like the sound of the flowmaster 44 but people say the cherrybomb flows better. Really considering putting factory y pipe back in then a single in dual out muffler. Feel like it would be better balanced than the true duals anyway

There was a test done on various mufllers on a dyno. Only change to the truck was what muffler was on it. Basically, it didn't matter. Super quiet to straight pipe, and the difference was all of one horsepower. Mufflers just don't matter.
