Default Fluid check

Is it better to check the fluid in park or in neutral. When I check the fluid in park the level is fine when I check it in neutral is low. I've read both ways. Is good. Any help would be great. Thanks

Neutral. That's what the book says.

Unless you (or someone) has upgraded the trans, fluid only flows in neutral, not park.
