Default changed computer 98 dodge ram 1500

Changed computer on my 98 dodge ram 1500 backed it out of shop. Went back later to move it and it would not even turn over. Somebody told when you changed the computer out you have to change something else also. Can someone tell me what else i will have to change or do to get my truck back to running

Well we could use a little more background.

Why did you have to change the computer? Where did you get the computer from? Year truck?

So it won't crank? Or it won't fire? Do the lights in the dash test?

He's suggesting that you need to check the battery connections--makes sense.

My understanding is that the replacement PCM needs to be for the same year and engine as the one being replaced. If it fired up once, tho, it should be okay and probably not the issue.

On the 98 and newer trucks, PCM has to be flashed to the correct vin, otherwise, ABS, and Air Bags don't work. (and the lights come on.) Should run the engine/trans just fine though.
