Default New Ram owner

First Dodge to own. I bought a 1998 1500 Laramie 4x4 for my son the other day. The truck seems solid no big issues. It had 145,000 miles on it and the tranny was rebuilt at 105,000, five years ago.

I have replaced the exhaust with a new Flowmaster which the muffler man said the O2 sensor, upstream, needed replacing. About to go get one and do that. I also replaced the ABS sensor which was no big deal. Other than that everything seems good.

the rest is typical: dash, some play in the steering, need carpet, about change headlights and tail lights. Mostly cosmetic but should be a fun project for use to work on together.

Really enjoy the information on the site. I'm sure I'll be asking questions soon.

Consider the LMC Trucks rubber carpet replacement. Fairly easy to install, looks great and never have to worry about the dropped big gulp again. :-)

NTK, or Denso O2 sensors please. Skip the bosch, our trucks don't always care for them.

AM-Autoparts.com has new, replacement headlights, for under 100 bucks for a pair. I don't think they include the bulbs any more though...... Much more effective than trying to polish the old lenses......

Thanks for the info. I ordered NTK earlier today. I heard the same thing about Bocsch.
