2002 dana 60 front -- put me out of my misery
#21
On a trail rig like yours, why not just put in a 1 piece passenger shaft? Do away with the cad, just have a full time front axle. Taking it in and out of 4wd at the t case will allow you to switch power to it, the only thing is that the front axle will spin all the time and go for the ride. Nothing wrong with this, this is how my dakota is set up, and many 4wd vehicles come from the factory.

4x4 right side (passenger) knuckle. Ball joint style 2002 ram 2500 dana 60.
And hopefully ball joints removed and inspected.
The current one I have, I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't compare it with the other. It has a cone shaped wear pattern where the ball joint sat.
Just when I thought I knew all the reasons people don't build these axles up..along comes another "gotcha"... lol
