Default Electrical or mechanical problem

Today I was driving my 99 ram 1500. Was driving fine down the highway, turned off And went about 2 miles down a back road. Came to a stop at a stopsign then started going again. Wouldn't shift out of first and trans was making a buzzing/humming noise. Pulled into a parking lot and had no reverse.

So no up shift, and no reverse. Didn't matter if I had it in drive, 2, or 1. Also no CEL.

Does this sound like an electrical issue inside the trans or like I need a complete trans rebuild?

Disconnect the 8 pin electrical connector on the trans. That will disable any automatic function..... but, you might at least be able to drive it home. (shifting manually.) If it still exhibits undesirable behavior, prolly time for a rebuild.

I will have to try that next week. I luckily was able to borrow my grandpas truck for the time being. I have my wedding on Saturday so we're already running around trying to get everything ready. I'm just going to try to get ahold of a trailer to get it home, then I can diagnose it then
