Control Arm Bushing Replacement?
This might sound silly but here goes: how many bushings are in the control arms of my '01 2500 4x4? When I look to order bushings, the parts are listed as: "front upper" or "front lower". This sounds so stupid...
I replaced my upper and lower control arms with Spohn aftermarket units. They have greaseable poly bushings in them and should last the life of the truck. I'm very happy with them.

Thank you for the replies.
NAPA just called, my 20-ton manual press just came in. Got it on sale for $499.00, so I will give it a test drive on pressing in these bushings. About those bushings....I tried Partsgeek.com and on the order page the message "these parts cannot be shipped to Alaska" popped up. Hmmm...Moog bushings must be hazardous materials.
Autopartswarehouse.com wanted $207.00(!!) to ship 8 pounds of bushings via UPS Ground! I threw caution to the winds and even tried Amazon.com. I found them there, but again $200.00 to ship up. Finally Aftermarketsuspensionparts.com had Moog bushings and mailed them Priority for $35.00. I chose rubber over poly because a couple years ago a fellow at Top Gunz Customs told me rubber is good enough unless you are really into lots of suspension excursion offroad. So....
We will see how these work. If they don't pan out, then I will look at those Spohn units. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with obtaining your front control arm bushings. Let us know how it goes with the remove and replacement of them.
I love my poly bushings in the control arms. To me, it feels like the truck tracks better and holds more firmly to the road with less sway. No squeaks either, since they are greased with a special synthetic grease. I also have poly bushings in my adjustable Solid Steel track bar and the sway bar mount bushings and sway bar end link bushings.
