ok thanks for that, so what is the c-CLIP for? also this might be causing some tranny cooling problems causing the the tranny to not shift right,

While it does appear to be a bit tweaked, I don't think it is going to compromise flow, or cooling.... If you still have the check valve in the cooler lines, I would be awfully tempted to make it go away.

A picture sure is worth a 1000 words! I guess that clip was caught by the magnet in the trans pan. Not sure what that may have come from.

Edit: It just hit me - that C-clip may have come from the park rod - I seem to recall that there may be a C-clip helping to affix the park rod to the valve body..

so a dent in the tranny cooler is normal and doesnt affect the shifting, so the c-CLIP is for the parking break, I sure dont have any parking problems, i guess i wouldnt worry about that anymre, im going have to drop the pan again and adjust the "Band" i watched a video on how to do it, sure wish my transmission pan had a drain plug

Careful with that pan. I went through three of them and then I gave up and went with a B&M. When the drain bung gets welded on, it takes away too much of the bung itself. It doesn't leave enough of a "flat" to seal well. In some spots it went from 1/8" wide to less than a 1/32".

If you do actually have a 46RE instead of a 46RH (swapped transmission from a junkyard or something), you probably need to replace the speed sensor. I had the exact same symptoms on my 47RE and solved them by replacing the sensor.
