Not going to work the way you want it to. You will get the first three gears, but, you will never see O/D, or TCC lockup. Too much changed from 95 to 96. Same goes for downgrading to older PCM/wiring harness. That PCM is going to expect to see EGR on the engine, which you do not have. CEL will always be on, no matter which way you go.

Sell the 92 trans, get one from 96-97. It will be a direct bolt in. (could probably use 98-99 as well, since you are 4x4, and VSS is in the tailshaft of the t-case.)

No wires? Is there just a vacuum switch, or some such, for O/D? (like the old 4L60 GM transmissions......)

Given that you had a manual previously, it might just work..... Going to have to do something about the clutch safety switch for starting though.....

The transmission in my early production dated '96 Ram 2500 4x4 is a 46RH. It just has connections for the torque converter lockup and overdrive. I have a switch on the dash that can kick out the overdrive. You can purchase aftermarket kits to control the overdrive and lockup on the torque converter, if you don't already have the wiring.

Patc sells what you need to make it work. These kit's/parts are used on the early od transmissions in non over drive vehicle trans swaps. They changed their web site and i can't seem to find it but they did sell them.
