I've tried to pull my crank case vent before but it didn't want to budge so I left it so I wouldn't break the plastic elbow.

A new valve cover grommet for the crank case vent and a PCV valve at the stealership is $20

I got the grommet so I could match it up to a metal push in breather at the parts store and so I would have some soft rubber in there.

It took some doing to get the plastic elbow (all 10 pieces by the time I got it) and the rock hard rubber out of the valve cover.

15 minutes is way too long to change those two items out.

 

Oh, I thought that you meant that you just fathered a child due to a prophylactic failure.

 

Anyone using one that old deserves what they get.
