Well hopefully your new coil will fix the issue. If not, I would check the IAC again and also check the voltages from the TPS. Also make sure the TB is clean as well, this can cause idle issues.

Make sure that you have an oring or fiber(paper) gasket in place too.

I drove it in my garage after work today and the garage smells extremely strongly of gasoline.

I gutted my cat back in summer (it was rattling), and after that the exhaust just smelled "dirty". Lately though, the exhaust has smelled a bit gassy. Today was rediculous though. I'll go out and check now if it was raw fuel from a fuel leak (that's what it smelled like), or if it is from the exhaust. The O2 sensors are both OEM, and it never threw a code after gutting the cat.

EDIT: I discovered the fuel leak...on my walk-behind snowblower that also sits in the garage. Wow, do I feel stupid. So ignore the fuel leak issue. Still, I wonder if an O2 sensor is acting up amd causing the poor idle? I'll look into the IAC later tonight...

I think you'll be surprised by the difference after installing the coil. Even after you replace it, it may take a few drive cycles for the o2 sensors to catch up and tell the pcm about the changes. If that coil was bad for long enough, that may have been what messed up your cat.
