Default Help with power seat controls!

Hello Everyone, Happy Holidays!

I was hoping someone may have answer as to why a couple of my power seat controls arent working. Two of the motors under the seat recieve power when using the switches (reading 12v) and one doesnt read anything.. Im wondering if this is a problem with the switch, the wiring harness, or the little module attached to the frame of the seat? The first, and 3rd switches do nothing, and the 2nd and 4th switch work perfectly. So basically, right now I can move forwards, backwards, down/up on rear of seat, and lumbar support. Would appreciate any help you have to offer!

Whats weird is it appears the first switch works going upwards, but not down..And its stuck in the upward position. And I cant get a reading from the harness that goes to the motor.

The switches all get power from the same place, circuit breaker in the fuse block on the side of the dash.

Unplug the three motors, and without touching any switches, none of the motors should have power.

The connector with Dark Blue/Red, and Yellow/light blue wires if for horizontal travel. (front to back) The motor works simply by reversing current flow to the motor. Should get power on one wire when moving forward, and on the opposite wire when moving back.

Other two work the same way. If you aren't get power to the motors when pressing on switches, the switches are likely your problem. Given you have one that is stuck.... that might be the ENTIRE problem.

Thanks HeyYou! I just didnt know if I was having a wiring problem, or if that module(?) under the seat had anything to do with it.

I probably didnt explain myself correctly, 2 of the motors have 12v while using the switch in both directions. I cant get a reading for the third motor, yet the motor does engage via switch in the upward position. (tested on a spare motor I have) Since the motor only moves upward, its stuck in that poaition.

Basically one of three switches is fully functional. Do you think theres a way to fix the switch, or should I splice a new switch in? Sorry for the long post

They *might* be fixable. There was a post by a member that pulled apart his power window switches, and fixed them, the seat switches are pretty much the same design. So, wouldn't hurt to have a look, and see what you can do. If it turns out to be more hassle than its worth, just replace it.

I don't have power seats in my Ram, but in my infiniti, the contacts had carbon buildup on them.
Try taking one apart and cleaning the copper contacts. A pencil eraser might work, or use some contact cleaner from radio shack.
