Default 98 dodge ram 1500 auto 46re trans problem

My 98 dodge ram 1500 5.2l automatic 46re lost first gear it starts in second and shifts up though all the other gear but won't down shift into first I put the truck into first gear manually and it was acting like it was in park

Drop the pan, see what you find.

Governor pressure solenoid? Mine did the same thing several times.

Yes start with dropping the pan. See if the fluid is burnt. If not then probably a solenoid problem. If its burnt then it may be time for a rebuild. Also look for any chunks or pieces laying in the pan.

So I drop the trans pan and I found a chunk of metal its one of the band anchors does anyone know if they sell new ones?

Should be able to get them from a variety of places. If the local parts stores can't get 'em, Rock Auto, or Transmission Center dot net should be able to come up with 'em for ya.
