I just recently got a 97 ram, I was wondering if these trucks were programmed to chirp the horn when you press the lock button on a remote. My truck does not honk when I lock it and i was wondering if this is some kind of option that can be turned on

 

Is it a factory RKE system?

 

yes, I believe it is the factory system

 

I didn't even know that was available as an option in 97........ you sure its factory?

THis is what it looks like, and i double checked with the owners manual and it they did have a rke option

 

dang, thats factory alright lol... maybe that was dealer installed because the original owner worked it in the deal cuz he found out he was screwin somebody he wasn't supposed to be, you know, other than his wife... cuz thats how that sht goes down sometimes... lol, sorry couldn't help myself.

 

Does it say anything in the owners manual about "light flash and horn?"

My '07 Tacoma has RKE but no horn, just light flash. (Yeah, I know, that's Toyota).
