Default New guy please help

Hi guys I'm new to the forum and have a problem my 99 Dodge ram 5.2 4 x 4 feels like I'm pulling a heavy trailer it has no get up and go I don't expect it to be a hot rod but I know what has more than what it's given me now my TPS sensor is reading 12% on idol and 86% at full throttle. From what I can gather the TPS supposed to rain around six at idle and 100% at wide open throttle and I could be wrong put a new TPS sensor on there and seeing results any help would be appreciated

Have you checked the plenum? Last time it was tuned up? Converter tested for blockage?

This thread describes how to check for a clogged catalytic converter.

I had a mechanic from my work hook it up to a scanner and he said my cat was fine. Would he be able to tell that from a scanner?

Only that the PCM wasn't whining about "cat efficiency"..... and the PCM is easily fooled.

Remove the front O2 sensor. Go for a drive. Does it run better? Then the cat is clogged.

Oh, and: Welcome to DF!

next question becomes: Rebuilt motor??? What went into it? Is it all stock, or were somethings "improved" upon?

Yes, remove the one BEFORE the cat. It will throw a code, just clear it when you are done.
