Default Ebrake won't lock

Sorry I've been posting a bunch of these lately. a friend was inspecting my brakes today and after putting tires back on I get home and the ebrake has a lot of reistance on it, I tried rolling in neutral a bit and hitting e brake and it stops the car fine.

Just won't tighten the cable when I push it, there is slack in the release cable, the release is in the pulled out position, if I push it springs back out. Is there something I can just tighten on the cable? Thanks

I would have a look at the entire e-brake mechanism, and make sure it was all in good shape. Probably have to replace the release, if nothing else is wrong. Might have some trouble finding one though......

Check and see if one of the rear cables is seized up.

Ya will try look at it later, is it common for ebrake to get messed up just inspecting the brakes? I was using it a lot today and the last time I used it was fine until I'm guessing when my friend took the rear drums off
