One of the accumulator pistons is plastic. Replace that with a steel, or aluminum one.

Sonax Sure cure. Firms up shifts, and if installed properly, will charge the torque converter in park. (so you can check the fluid in park....)

Nice size cooler, maybe thermostatic bypass as well. (so it will warm up properly) Maybe an external filter? (increases fluid capacity, better filtering, and yet another place for the fluid to shed heat.)

Firstly, Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge and forgive my ignorance on the very important but mysterious to me trans. All the work I've done on cars and trucks over the years the Tranny remains the component I won't go any farther than changing the fluid in and only if the pan's got a plug.
HeyYou, I'm definitely doing the cooler I've done them in the past but was un aware of the Thermo bypass,I like it. I'm leaning toward the shift kit and had no idea about the piston and will look into it.
dbbd1, I have not. I'll try doing a search on the site to find out what it's about.

I'm getting ready to remove my check valve too as soon as my new radiator shows up. I've read through some of that thread before and further into it they mention just drilling the check ball out and pulling the spring, then reconnect and should be good to go. I'm thinking of going that route. Is there any risk factor in doing it that way?

Sounds like an option to me. I think I'll put the new hose in because I eventually want to add a cooler.

That is the point where i started ny new line to my new cooler (then through the stock cooler, no radiator cooler, then back into the trans)

Yeah, drilling it out, and making sure the hose is NICE AND CLEAN is definitely an option. Inexpensive too.

It's haunted or should I say it's just showing me why I like Mopars so much. Today it's shifting. It's going to see the tranny doctor to have that sensor changed, bands adjusted and shift kit added.
