Tranny crapshoot

The truck: 01 5.2 1500 4x Sport with 140 on the clock. Stock spec on everything.
I rolled the dice on a used tranny as opposed to a $2000 rebuild. The tranny came from another 01 so it plays nice or should with the ECM in mine.
It turned out mostly good I think. I have no benchmark because I just bought the truck with and knowing the tranny in it was JUNK. All it had was 1st & backemup.
It now shifts through the gears including OD. However the new to the truck tranny lit up the CEL with the 1762 pressure sensor code.
My observations so far, although the junk tranny only had 1st gear, its 1st and only gear felt crisper than what I have now.
OD is kickin in between 50-52 mph.
Is this the correct speed for over drive?
Also the shifts feel more like I'm driving a Lincoln. Unless you tune into it you can you can hardly feel em, you can see em on the tack. I would have expected a firmer shift.
I'm going to try the reset the ECM thing tomorrow to see what happens. I've read here that the best way to do that is to disconnect negative bat terminal then hold the key in start position for +20sec.?
Thanks ahead for any comments.

being it's a used trans adjust the bands while you have the pan down. The rear band is tighten to 72inlbs then back off 2 turns. The front band is tighten to 72 inlbs factory manual says turn back 2 7/8 turns. When I do rebuilds I turn back 2.5 turns and have found this to be a better setting to provide quicker, crisper shifts.

I tried resetting the ECM today to no avail, CEL came back on a couple seconds after start. Drove around a while made a few stops and it was shifting as it did yesterday. I made yet another stop leave the parking lot and no shift again just like the old tranny,WTF. The code that set off the CEL yesterday was 1762, would that pressure sensor cause what just happened??

I guess that's good. Off to the trany shop I go. I'll have the guy adjust the bands as well.
I'll do some further reading on the shift kits discussed here and possibly have one of those put in. Come the warmer weather I'll definitely install a tranny cooler, knowing that heat kills.
Are there any other upgrades/tweaks or preventive measures that can be done to a 100k tranny that will add to its longevity?
I'm a carpenter so the truck is going to work, it'll be carrying loads and doing some towing.
Thanks for your time
