Default Add-on rear bumper steps?

Get the old man/geezer comments ready. Not easy for me to climb up into the bed of the truck when the tailgate is down due to the height, are there any steps that I could bolt on to the corners of the rear bumper, or has anyone fabbed such a thing?

I usually just sit on the tailgate, and then climb into the bed.....

I haven't seen any steps for the rear bumper... My wife just keeps a stool in the van for folks to step up on.

A company called Amp Research makes small retractable corner steps, but $$, and only fit 08-up. Can get a sliding step to fit in the Reese hitch, but need a handle to grab to pull myself up. No problem if I were 25 yrs. younger...

Might want to check around, see if there are any truck shops, or metal fabricators in the area, see if they can do anything for you.

Are you thinking of something like the Fords that have the little ladder that will flip over the tailgate?

Oh my, didn't think the "F" word should be mentioned here! not a ladder, really, but a step I could graft on to the corners of the bumper

There's a heap of hitch step options that come up with a Google search, or a search on Amazon.

For a bumper step, search for "Bestop TrekStep"

They are, nothing wrong with that, just don't have that spring in my step anymore. Speaking of steps, I see that my 96 has no handle on the pillar on the drivers side to pull yourself up into the truck like the passenger side does, what gives?
