I called the dealer and it does indeed have the 46re

Transmission's will fit on the 2nd gens up to 04. Your 2wd will work in the 4wd with the tail swap but as stated before, you must have the correct shim. There is a tool to buy so you can measure or you can use a depth micro like I did.
