Default Patagonia M/T Tires

I'm going to be replacing my tires within the next month and was looking at these. From the looks of their website they mainly make commercial tires and have recently ventured into the passenger/light truck market. Truck is a stock height 1500 and currently sitting on a set of 265/75r16 Uniroyal liberators. I can't decide if i want to go back with the 265s or wedge a set of 285s under it. I have heard both the 285s fit with no rub and also that they will rub a little at full lock. Anybody actually have a set of 285s on a stock truck without rub?

I have 285's on mine, but, mine is also a 3/4 ton..... so, plenty of clearance, and to me, they still look small.

Unless you like a lot a road noise, your gonna hate those.

If you buy them keep maintainance rigorous. Like extremely rigorous.

You can't avoid the fact, at some point they wil, start to cup, it's beacause the way the suspensions are built, and then once they do their nothing you can do about it. Milage life goes down the toilet. But I guess if you care about tire life, you wouldn't go for something as fierce as those lol

From some of the reviews of them, they claim the tires weren't as noisy as they expected. Heck, I've heard a bunch of complaints about big ATs being too noisy so who knows.

When I was still running a 1500 I had 285s. Normal flat driving there was no rub, but if I was playing in the hills it didn't take much to give a light rub. Funny thing was, no matter how hard I made it flex it was still just a light rub.
Now, with 2500 under carriage, I'm with HeyYou, they look too small. I think 35s will look good.

I ordered a set of 265/75r16s on Wednesday(3/1) from Walmart. Got them today(3/4) with free shipping. Cost me $651 (including taxes )and then another $60 for installation at pepboys. So far I can say that even with the open tread blocks on the outer edges these are some really quiet tires.

Good for tossing some serious mud.

It apperas to be that they don't cause noisemakers because of that center tread block. They have minimal spacing between them, keeping the tire from hitting the flat spots between the treads, which causes some types of noise. The outer blocks is where most of the work in soft mud is done, that's why they have the open blocks. It's actually pretty interesting how they designed this one. Different from a lot of what we have at the store.

The fact that it is a 10 ply tire with an E load range, I would say yeah, they're good.
