Default Trans Build

2001 1500 5.9 4x4, 86k on it.

I have a lead foot, off roading 3-4 times a year, no high speed desert stuff, 3.73's and 33's probably in the mid future. Something to haul with. I don't mind a firm shift but bang shifting is too much. Overkill? Tranny is up the counter, I'll be taking apart over the next few days. Makes a really bad noise, If it needs to be on the counter, it needs rebuilding.

Dodge 46RE High Performance Red Alto Friction Plates, Kolene Steel Plate Sealing Rings, Metal Clad Seals, Gaskets, Orings, rubber Piston Seals, High performance Kevlar Band, all plastic type filter, pump bushing and ext. housing bushing. TCS 4.2 Band Ratio Lever, Torrington Bearing kit, Front band Apply Servo (includes the heavy duty band strut)-Super Servo, Low & Reverse Super Servo (Gas), Sonnax Accumulator Piston Kit, and Overdrive direct front waved Snap Ring.

Also Sonnax Zip Kit for valve body and Torque Converter.

So after a couple operations I'm back to working on it again. Instead of the Transgo I went with the Sure Cure kit. I'll get to have fun here in the next 2 weeks or so.

If I understand from a bunch of other threads you can do both and that will allow you to check your fluid in park also.

Correct. There is some overlap between the kits, but, they are both designed to address different issues. (again, with some overlap.)

Nice to know. From the place I got the Sonax Shure Cure, these have been discontinued. Get'em while they're cheap.

I ordered a CRT Perforance NEW 45K PowerBoost Ignition Upgrade in Black. It's due for a tune up any ways. I'll throw the stock coil in the spare parts bag I keep in my vehicles. Pacesetter headers for the stock 3" single system. Hey, they're CARB approved now. Make it rumble a little. The engine will remain stock for the most part. Yea right.

I ordered a Sure Cure Kit (SC-46/47RHE) it's discontinued, I received a Sonnax Zip Kit (46-47RHE-ZIP) it's the replacement for the Sure Cure Kit.
