Default 98 Dodge ram 1500 5.9 fuel pump

98 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 I have had this truck for about a mouth now and back in December the the previous on the replace the fuel pump just under 2 months later I had to turn around and replace the same fuel pump now I think the fuel pump is gone bad again can someone help me on why the truck is running through fuel pumps I replace the relay the fuel filter inside the fuel pump the gas cap is still good

What brand pumps are you using? The cheap pumps are well know for going out fast.
I'll have to let someone who remembers names better than me list the better choices.

Delphi or Denso pump. Skip the Air-tex, unless you like changing them... Dorman aren't much better.

Should have at least a one year warranty on it then.

Check the grounds for the fuel pump.

Where would I find the ground or should I splice the wire and make my own ground

Grab the factory service manual for your truck from this thread. Wiring diagrams and such are in section 8W.

if i remember right i think the ground wire runs to where the cab and bed meet up. would be weird for it to be a ground issue after working flawless after a change for two months, more than once.... unless it is burned up or something, you changed everything else so i am at a loss. swap the relay with the horn relay and see if it fires? or can you kick on the bottom of the tank while someone tries turning it over, does it start? if it does then i would lean more towards crude in the tank being picked up and clogging the pump but i don't know...

I jus put this one in around 3 weeks a go and put a can of sea forum shouldnt that have ate up any trash in the tank I also blown out the gas line

Need to clean the crap out of the gas tank. Just breaking it down, and then running it thru the pump, isn't really good for it.
